What about microphones?

You need a good one. If the mike you have doesn't provide good voice input, the speech engine will have difficulty determining the correct command.

Can I train the speech engine to understand me better?

You sure can! installs - if another isn't already present -a speech app that can be found in your Control Panel. This allows you to create multple speech profiles ( tells you at start-up which profile you've selected). Each person using the computer to run gameVoX should create their own profile. This application lets you train the speech engine to better recognize your voice. You should do this. It takes just a few minutes per session and it will improve the command accuracy .

What about ambient sound?

If you have an omnidirectional microphone and/or if the noise, music or talking is loud, the performance may suffer because of response confusion by the speech engine. Close talk type mikes are better in a noisy environment.
